Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dig & Hatch (the "Game"), a browser game made by ArcaStudios ("we", "us") and published on Poki, handles information when you play it.
The short version
- We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, photos or location, and the Game has no accounts.
- Your game progress is saved only in your own browser. It is never sent to us.
- We do not run our own servers, analytics or advertising in the Game.
- Ads, gameplay statistics and the optional co-op mode are provided by Poki and are covered by Poki's Privacy Center.
1. Information we do not collect
The Game does not ask for or collect personal information. There is no sign-up, no profile, no text chat and no in-game purchase. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
2. Information stored on your device
To remember your progress (coins, pets, eggs, upgrades, worlds reached, missions and settings such as sound and graphics quality), the Game uses your browser's local storage under the keys digHatch_save_v1 and dh_gfx. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us. Promo codes are checked inside the Game and are not sent anywhere.
You can delete this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for the website where you play. This resets your progress.
3. Poki, ads and gameplay statistics
The Game runs on Poki and uses the Poki SDK. Through the SDK, Poki:
- shows ads during natural breaks and optional rewarded videos that you choose to watch;
- measures gameplay events, such as when play starts and stops and how far players progress, so the Game can be improved;
- creates share links when you invite a friend.
Poki and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, device and browser details and cookies or similar technologies, as described in Poki's Privacy Center. Poki is responsible for that processing. We only see aggregated statistics in Poki's developer dashboard, such as playtime and technical error reports, which do not identify you.
4. Optional co-op mode ("Dig Together")
Co-op only starts if you choose it, by opening an invite link, entering a 4-letter code or using quick match. It uses Poki's multiplayer service (Poki Netlib):
- Your browser connects to Poki's matchmaking service and then to the other player's browser through a peer-to-peer connection (WebRTC), which may be relayed through Poki's servers.
- As with any peer-to-peer connection, the other player's device and these servers can see your IP address.
- The Game only exchanges gameplay data: your miner's position, the tiles you dig, the pets you show, hits on the Guardian and one of four preset emotes. No names, messages or other personal information are sent.
- Nothing from the session is stored by us. When the session ends, the connection closes.
If you share an invite link with your device's share menu, you choose the app and the person who receives it. The link only contains a code to join the game.
5. Children
Dig & Hatch is designed to be suitable for all ages. It has no chat, no accounts and no collection of personal information by us, and co-op players can only send preset emotes. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question about your child's use of the Game, please contact us at the address below.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR (European Union), the LGPD (Brazil), the CCPA (California) or COPPA (United States) give you rights over your personal data, such as access and deletion. Because we do not hold any personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete; your local save can be removed by clearing your browser data. For data processed by Poki, please use Poki's Privacy Center. You are always welcome to contact us with any question.
7. Security
The Game is delivered over encrypted HTTPS connections, and co-op connections use the encryption built into WebRTC. Because we do not receive or store your personal data, it cannot be exposed through us.
8. Changes to this policy
If the Game changes the way it handles information, we will update this page and its effective date.
